ABOUT ME

Hello! Welcome to my digital portfolio. My name is Anuja Sahu, I'm a 12th grader at Independence High School, and I'm studying Pediatrics in the Independent Study and Mentorship Program. Few of my many interests include playing the flute, sports, social service, and spending quality time with friends

and family.

My goals for ISM include acquiring more knowledge about Pediatrics, clearing any confusions on what career path I would like to pursue, and finding an amazing internship opportunity that will allow me to gain experience and present myself as a more competent candidate in job interviews. At the end of the year, I hope my final product can reflect the passion and determination behind my work as I strive to continue expanding in the medical field.

Mission Statement:

Through the Independent Study and Mentorship program, I hope to improve my public speaking skills, build professionality, and acquire more knowledge surrounding Pediatrics. Under the guidance of a mentor, I hope to gain experience in the professional world and construct a final presentation that presents the effort put my work and research I conducted throughout the year. By demonstrating integrity, perseverance, and confidence, I hope to inspire many people to pursue a career in the field of medicine as I strive to collect the skills necessary to become a Pediatrician.

FINAL PRODUCT PROPOSAL

The Product Proposal is your description of the product that you hope to create. This will be the culminating achievement of your year in ISM and the tangible representation of your learning. It should have a real-world application and represent the type of product that you would create as a professional in your chosen field. It includes:

  • Introduction and Statement of Purpose: Description of the product I plan to create and an explanation of what I hope to accomplish through it, in as much detail as possible. (Am I applying skills I have learned? Am I creating a useful tool for my mentor?)

  • Review of Skills and Research: Explanation of the research topics that have been or will be instrumental in the creation of my product. Explanation of the skills and/or expertise that I will learn or have learned that will be utilized in the creation of my product.

  • Methodology: Explanation of the step by step procedure that I will use to bring my product to completion.

  • Materials: Explanation of the materials that will be required to complete my product. Will need to anticipate (through research) the cost of these materials.

  • Conclusions: Explanation of what I anticipate the outcome of my product to be. What do I think my audience will learn/what do I think the results will be? Description of how my product will have application to the real world. To whom will it be useful? How will it be utilized? How will this benefit others or the community at large? If not directly designed to do so, how can I address this?
