DAY 2394/90803284

Updated: Mar 17, 2019

Things get harder and harder each day...

During one of my mentor visits, I searched up several of the medical terms that have been taken by my mentor and ones I have heard the nurses say. Another thing I have been working on between observing and waiting, I have started a rough sketch of a plot chart to help me begin planning out how I want my story to be. I put down the ideas that first came into mind, but I know it will take several edits and more thinking to come up with a good story. I thought I wouldn't have much trouble making a story, but it's much harder than it seems. Also, I have also picked up more flyers from the office about different topics. I'm excited to read them and continue learning more.

My doctor told me an intriguing case about a little girl. The doctor's found the girl to be dead when it was time for delivery, and when they got her out through a c-section, they spent a lot of time trying to bring her back. Because of a lack of oxygen in her brain, she suffered tremendous damage, which means the girl will live as a handicapped for the rest of her life. The mother has quit her job and needs to care for her daughter 24/7. In cases like these, doctors should know when it's enough. Doctors today have the capabilities to save anyone's life, but they should know when that technology and medicine will not help but harm. I would've never thought that saving someone's life could have a negative side like the little girl's case.
