Some days are super hectic, and some days not so much...

During spring break, I managed to visit my mentor twice. The first day, I wasn't able to see many patients because there were lots of well-checks and I have seen several of them already. I ended up beginning my planning for my final product. I ended up doing a lot of researching on my device about the medical terms and conditions I heard my mentor and the nurses say. The list keeps getting longer and longer! The second day, I saw more patients with my mentor since it was a less busy day. There was one patient who had big tonsils. I had never seen such big tonsils before, and they aren't good because they can cause breathing problems and eating problems because they're in the way in the throat and block the passageway to the esophagus. Another patient I saw was born with his tracheoesophageal fistula. It's an abnormal connection in one or more places between the esophagus and the trachea. The last patient of the day had lots of dark brown wax stuck in his ears, so I saw the nurse use warm water and a small tube to cause pressure in the ear so that some of the wax would come out. It might've hurt a little bit because the child was crying and was very uncomfortable, but it was effective.
