READY, SET...

I feel my professional side developing into something that will bring lots of success...

It has been about a month since school has begun, and already I feel like I am building my future in ISM. We have learned so much in the past six weeks. After constructing a professional presence online, our teacher taught us how to communicate with professionals over the call or even through email. We were required to create a cold call script, that guides us through introducing ourselves to the professional and establishing the importance of the call so that they are willing to invest their valuable time talking to us. As easy as this task seemed to me at first, it was more difficult. It took time to make the script sound more professional without it sounding like someone else wrote it, as I am not accustomed to writing that way. Not only is professional word choice challenging, but also speaking confidently and enthusiastically over the phone. When I practiced calling my teacher as if she was a professional, I realized that I get nervous and sound as if I lack confidence and emotions. Thus, I have to work on nerves as I will be calling multiple professionals and I need to be able to convey how important this is to me.
